International private medical insurance provides you with the assurance that the treatment you receive will be of the highest standard. By choosing MediSky, you are given access to the best specialists and state-of-the-art facilities anywhere in the world! Without waiting in line or unnecessary formalities. You will be able to make appointments with any specialist, provided they hold a valid professional licence and issue bills/invoices for the services provided. Additionally, MediSky will cover the cost of medication and rehabilitation.
Travel insurance provides limited cover that – and this is the key issue – works for the strictly defined duration of a given trip, where the costs are reimbursed exclusively in case of emergencies and accidents. MediSky plans provide comprehensive international cover with guaranteed access to the best specialists 365 day a year, both in Poland and abroad.
An EHIC gives its holder access to health care services in EU member states and certain other European countries. You can use the given country’s health care on the same terms as its citizens.
Therefore, you have to remember that an EHIC gives you access to only those health care facilities that have a contract in place with the local Insurance Institution (that is, the equivalent of the Polish National Health Fund). Furthermore, an EHIC does not provide cover for the cost of medically necessary transport to Poland. On top of which you may incur additional costs as in some countries citizens participate in the cost of treatment. The same rule will thus apply to you.
As much as an EHIC gives you access to health care services abroad, it is to a very limited extent. The protection provided by it may not be enough for you under certain circumstances. On the other hand, the private medical insurance offered by MediSky gives you immediate access to any health care facilities (including private ones) and top specialists, while at the same time covering the cost of transport, medication and rehabilitation.
Health care subscriptions provide access exclusively to a number of specialists that hold appointments at certain health care facilities as defined in the contract. MediSky plans provide our customers with the option to have treatment at any of the hospitals and health care facilities, irrespective of whether state-run or private. They guarantee fast access to the best specialists around and cover all the cost incurred during treatment subject to any chosen plan limitations or deductibles, including the cost of all of the required medication.
Dependent on your chosen plan, MediSky health insurance provides a professional and comprehensive cover, from outpatient care (appointments with specialists) and preventive care, through to cancer therapy, advanced medical procedures, transplants, rehabilitation and dental care.
The cost will depend on the age of the insured person, the range of services covered and the area of coverage.
The area of coverage for your MediSky health insurance is chosen at the moment of purchase of the policy. It usually covers Poland and European Union member states, you also have the option to extend it to worldwide coverage.
You can reduce your premiums by choosing deductibles. This means that the policy holder or the insured person participates in the cost of treatment.
The MediSky health insurance gives you access to any specialist, provided they hold a valid professional licence and issue bills/invoices for the services provided. Moreover, the policy covers physiotherapists, dental practitioners (selected plans), psychologists and psychiatrists.

What is the difference between private health insurance and the EHIC card?
The EHIC card provides the possibility of using health services in the territory of EU countries and in some other European countries. You can get healthcare in the same way as nationals of a given country.
So you have to remember that under the EHIC, you can only go to medical facilities that have a signed contract with the local Insurance Institution (i.e. the equivalent of the Polish National Health Fund). The EHIC also does not cover the costs of medical transport to Poland. You also have to take into account subsidies - in some countries citizens contribute to the costs of treatment, so this rule applies to you too.
As you can see, the EHIC card allows you to access health services abroad, but to a very limited extent. Such protection will not be sufficient in every situation.

How can I reduce my premium?
It is possible to reduce the premium amount by applying an excess. The excess will result in the policyholder or the insured contributing to the costs of treatment.
What doctors can I use under the insurance?
